The votes have been set and tallied, and here are the winners! Each winner gets a trophy in their profile and a plug for their website in this news update. The first place winner wins two weeks of advertisement for their site! The competition requirements were to submit a photograph that represents your home or your part of the world. It was a tie! Congrats to everyone! Kyra and Scarlett will both win the prize of free advertisement. Since there were a lot of entries, the votes were all really close. There were ten entrants. The seven other entrants were all tied either for third or fourth place, so I won't mention them here, but the third placers will get trophies added to their profiles. Every single entry had at least one vote, which impressed me, especially since most of them didn't include a vote made by the entrant him/herself.

Voting has begun for our "Your Part of the World" photography competition! Take your time voting, because there are 10 entries. Also, because of the theme, which was to submit a photograph that represents your home or your part of the world, expect the entries to differ a lot. Plus, don't catch yourself voting for your favorite place. This is a photography competition. Vote for the entry you think is the best photograph overall. The winner will win two weeks of free advertisement. And if the votes are close (or if there is a tie), I'll give out a second prize of free advertisement either to the tie or to second place. This is a reminder that the deadline for our Your Part of the World photography competition is a week from today! The deadline is August 4th, 12:00 noon PST. So far we have already received a good number of entries, but if you're still considering entering, then just be sure to submit your entry before it's too late! The theme of the competition is to submit a photograph that represents in one way or another your home, your part of the world. It can be something that represents your city or your entire country. What's this, another competition? Aren't we already holding a design comp that began only two days ago? Yes and yes! As suggested by Kyra and several others, we should hold more competitions. Well, here's an exciting new competition for you. For this competition, you must submit a photograph that symbolizes or represents where you live. It can be a well-known monument, something that is unique to your home city, country, etc., or something that your home is well-known for and takes pride in. And also please include in your description a short bit explaining why your photograph relates to your area. I'm thinking this might be a fun learning experience for some of us.

Also, the deadline is August 4th, 12:00 noon PST, so you must have plenty of time to find/take a picture and submit it for this comp. Good luck!
